The Frame:

The frame is coming together, Tonight was another couple good hours of work.  All of the frame prices are back together and things are starting to look really good.  The final welding is approximately 75% complete.  Take a look at the progress so far.....

What the frame looked like when the body was removed.

What the frame looks like now two years later....... I should have worked on this prior to now.

Another Picture of what the frame looked like when the body was removed.

What the frame looks like as of tonight.  I need to finish bending the cross member and rivet the cross member back in.

The frame has come a long way since the body has come off.  Seeing progress is really encouraging.  Hopefully soon the frame will be all welded and riveted together so that it can get blasted and painted.

Progress is Finally Happening

It has been a long time and there has been many things that have gone on since the last post.  Since the Last post the frame has been completely stripped and the bent section where my grandmother backed into a fire hydrant cut out of the frame so that it can be straightened.  I just left the garage and it finally feels like there is a little progress being made.  With all the pieces of the frame bent back into shape they are starting to go back together.

Tacking the straightened pieces back to the frame.

Frame width measurements all match the original drawings.

Since the overall length of the frame did not match side to
side, 1/2" spaces were used to make sure the dimensions
were correct side to side.  Picture above is with all the spaces
tack welded into place.
Top and side pieces fully welded in and ground smooth.
Finally a smooth looking frame.  Not looking bad after a couple hours
worth of work.

The Launch of Project 55

I wanted to give a little background about the launch of this blog and why I did it. The reason I started this blog was so that I can keep my family and friends up to date on the restoration of the families 1955 Chevy 210 passenger car.

I will be posting a short history of the car and pictures later.

I hope that you enjoy.
